Membership to the Montgomery County Historical and Genealogical Society entitles you to many benefits. For the low annual dues of $15 – 40 for Students, Individuals or Families, you will receive:

  • The right to visit and explore the exhibits at the Figh Pickett Barnes School House

Meetings & Events

Members are invited to attend semi-annual meetings featuring various speakers, all with extensive knowledge about Montgomery’s history. In addition, we frequently host special events exclusively to our board and members. Recent events have included a Blue Moon Taste Testing, honoring Montgomery’s Blue Moon Cafe, and a reception honoring our Military Veterans.

The Herald

As a MCHS member, you will automatically receive our quarterly newsletter, The Herald. Each issue is full of interesting articles about Montgomery County’s past, with columns remembering landmark locations and noteworthy citizens. Our articles come by way of membership submission, historians, and even from old local newspapers.

Archives

Our extensive archives are available to members for research purposes. We have an extensive library of reference material about the history for genealogy research. In addition, we will store and protect you own family archives in our controlled environment ensuring that they will last for many generations to come.
